Jim Threlkeld

Jim Threlkeld lives with his wife, daughter, dog and 2 cats in Decatur GA, where he works as a video producer & script writer. Jim is an avid reader of fine books, both fiction and non-fiction. Some of his favorites are 1491 by Charles Mann, The Big Sleep by Raymond Chandler, and the Collected Poems of Philip Larkin. He earned an MA in English Literature from Georgia State University. For fun, Jim writes songs and plays with the band Floating Coats. He also enjoys taking long walks and ruminating on this and that. These ruminations sometimes result in essays, including "Cumbria, Forgotten Celtic Kingdom," published by the InHeritage Almanack.

Need a great book for weekend reading? We recommend The Promise by Damon Galgut. A haunting saga about a white South African family, set in the backdrop of a changing country. Spanning three decades and three funerals, the story follows the Swart family children as they navigate lives of failed possibilities and their unmet promise to a family servant. 5 0
